A propos...

Grand 8 is a big dipper simulator.
It is originally a postcourse for the CS 638 - Virtual Reality Environments module from the University of Manchester. I have decided to release this project GPL on source forge because I think

• It worths it: it is fun to see !
• It is a good example of a Maverik program: Maverik is a virtual reality (VR) system that can really help the production of complex environments, but the documentation not always complete. Thus I think that programmers can find the source code of this project helpful for other applications.
• Some work can be done yet: there is still a reasonable TODO list and I would appreciate any help, as well as feedbacks concerning the portability.

Who is it for?

Well, Grand8 is an amusement, so it is for everyone! It is written in C using Maverik (which relies on openGL).

It is has been developped under Linux. However, it should be easy to port it to other platforms. If you can try, please let me know how it works!
